The No Surprises Act

Starting 1-1-22, the No Surprises Act took effect. The only difference when it comes to counseling is that now we are required by Federal Law to give you a “Good Faith Estimate” A “Good Faith Estimate” is simply an estimate of the cost of treatment when using an out of network provider or if one has no insurance. The Bravo Counseling Group, LLC is not in network with any insurance providers. The Bravo Counseling Group, LLC is considered “fee for service.” If clients choose, they can self-submit their receipts, aka “superbills,” to their insurance for reimbursement according to their plan.

When you call our office to enquire about an appointment, you will be given a “Good Faith Estimate” for your initial appointment, formally called a Diagnostic Interview. After that initial appointment, you will be given another “Good Faith Estimate” providing you with the estimated length and cost of treatment along with a Diagnosis.

You can go to the CMS website to learn more about your rights under the No Surprises Act: https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises

Please call 407-222-6239 in order to schedule a complimentary phone call to see how we can address your needs.

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have
insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical
items and services.
• You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total
expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes
related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and
hospital fees.
• Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate
in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item.
You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you
choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or
service.
• If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith
Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
• Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
