Established on January 1st, 2013, The Bravo Counseling Group, LLC is owned by Laura Peddie-Bravo, MA, LMHC, NCC, Qualified Supervisor. Laura graduated from The University of Central Florida in 1991 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, with a Clinical Psychology specialization. After graduating, she continued to gain research experience by working on other’s research and then creating her own research project, while gaining experience working in the field of psychology. She then attended The University of Central Florida’s CACREP (https://www.cacrep.org/) accredited Counselor Education program in Mental Health Counseling, and was President of UCF’s Chi Sigma Iota chapter, (https://www.csi-net.org/? ) which is the Academic Honor Society for Counseling. She graduated with her Masters degree in 1998 with a 4.0. (Please note: her Masters degree was over 60 credit hours, and after graduation, the State of Florida requires a two year minimum internship post graduation). She is a Nationally Certified Counselor since 1999, and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor since 2001. She began her career working in UCF’s Counseling and Testing Center, which is now known as Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS). Examples of issues she has experience treating are: Anxiety, Depression, PTSD, Eating Disorders, Autistic Spectrum Disorder, (ASD), Post Partum issues, and more. Laura is overall Wellness oriented and uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, (CBT). Additionally, Laura has volunteered for the profession of counseling for many years, and is currently serving on the Board of The Florida Mental Health Counselors Association (https://fmhca.wildapricot.org/Home.) She has also mentored countless students throughout her career, ranging from high school students, Undergraduate students, Masters and Ph.D. students. Laura loves to continue her education, and routinely far surpasses the number of continuing education hours needed for re-licensure. (Vitae available upon request.)
